Dear Dr. Sher,
As I understand the E2 levels have to drop for lining to shed and period to start. Therefore won’t giving E2 10 days before period and continuing E2 after period disrupt the body E2 pattern and prevent period from coming?

When I do E2V priming , I start the process after the Lupron-induced period starts, continue for about 8 days and then go straight into the gonadotropin stimulation without another intervening bleed.

Just wondering if progesterone support following IUI or IVF would prevent miscarriage of unhealthy/ chromosomally abnormal embryos? Would they continue to grow even though there could be big health issues? Does progesterone prevent miscarriage in these cases, or would they miscarry despite the progesterone supplementation. Thank you very much!
No Jen…it might delay the miscarriage by a short period of time but it will not prevent it from happening.

Hello Dr,
My husband has been diagnoized with an isolated morphology defect only 4%. His total motile count is 70 million. Could this likely be the casue of our failures achieving a natural pregnancy or how big of an impact could this be in your eyes on a natural pregnancy? We have also had 2 failed ivf – ICSI cycles with good embryos?
What’s the relevance of the morphology? Do some men have like 50% normal forms or

I strongly doubt this is the explanation. I suggest all other factors be considered. You need a very comprehensive evaluation, including a full immunologic assessment.

They grow in the 2 weeks (or so) prior to ovulation.

Is it better to take Folate or Folic acid as a daily supplement during IVF?
In my opinion it does not matter.
