I had my 5 day frozen transfer 4/11/18
First beta 12 days post transfer: 386
Second beta 14 days post transfer: 729
What is your opinion on it not quite doubling?
Thank you!
My bet is that all will be OK!
Good luck!

I’m 37yo, have 1 healthy 3-year-old boy conceived naturally. After multiple failed attempts to conceive our second child, we did IUI and now IVF. Retrieval was yesterday. My numbers: 8 follicles, 5 mature eggs, 2 fertilized. They are now frozen.
Question is: prepare to have those implanted in 1 month (2 weeks for period, then 2 weeks for progesterone prior to implanting), with no biopsy, or repeating the cycle to get more embryos and doing a biopsy of all of them together? Biopsy of 2 or 10 is the same cost if done at the same time only.
My husband really wanted the biopsy, but I’m not sure I want to do another cycle without giving these 2 a chance. And the idea of discarding a bunch (if I ever get “a bunch”) is also hard for me. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
LBC.
In my opinion, embryos that fail to reach blastocyst are totally incompetent anyway. They would not have propagated a pregnancy had they been transferred earlier. Also the biopsy and freezing should in no way significantly harm the embryos. So why not take them to blastocyst and if they makeit, biopsy them for PGS. That way you know exactly what you have.
Good luck with your decision.

I’m currently on my first round of ivf and looking for some advice, I’m 30years old I have been advised to have my embryos frozen due to responding to well to the stimulation drugs, my embryologist has recommended 4 months for my body to return to normal for a better environment for my embryo, I have asked for 2 embryos to be put in but they didn’t sound keen, is there a reason for this? Also how long would you advise to wait before FET? Many thanks nicola
No doubt frozen transfers do at least as well as fresh ET’s. However, unless I am mising something, I do not see why a fresh transfer was set aside. Also, a 4 month hiatus in getting to FET is long. All you need is a 1 month break, in my opinion.
Good luck!

Dear Dr, you are doing an amazing job of answering so many couples struggling couples. So Thank you.
We are(36Mand 33F years) undergoing assisted reproduction since last two years due to severe male factor.w When we started the first 2 icsi cycles sperm count was less than 10million with 1% morphology and 3rd cycle it was 25million with 1%morphology again. And also in each cycle we got max 6 eggs even with good AMH value of 5.2, So from 3 cycles we had 17 eggs which resulted in 5 day 6 early blasts but they were not viable for PGS. So we did FET twice which didn’t succeed.
Finally we tried our 4th cycle with Tesa due high DFI of 44% and sperm count of 25million and 1%morphology and 5good eggs, so got 1 good quality embryo and another one morula. So we did pgs for the good one and it came back as abnormal as my dr said it has some extra chromosomes.
Our dr who’s been very helpful in all our journey with very transparent, good guidance and counseling is suggesting go for donor sperm else donor egg. Before trying both of them from donors.
I request you to please provide your thoughts is there any hopes for us to have own baby before going donor way.
Thanks in advance
I respectfully do not agree with that decision to go to DS. I strongly suggest we talk!
When it comes to reproduction, humans are the poorest performers of all mammals. In fact we are so inefficient that up to 75% of fertilized eggs do not produce live births, and up to 30% of pregnancies end up being lost within 10

Hello,
I have had 4 miscarriages over the last 3 years. 2 natural chemicals, 2 empty gestational sacs at 6 weeks (never heard heartbeats). 2 rounds of IVF (my eggs). The first resulted in no pregnancy (prednisone elevated my NK cells). The second resulted in a D&C (empty sac). After my last D&C the tissue was biopsied and came back a normal 46 chromosome male. I was treated with Humira to combat my elevated TNF-a which apparently worked round 2 of IVF. I’m so confused. I have high FSH (14.4) and low AMH (0.39) so we are considering donor eggs but I’m afraid my body is attacking the embryos and the donor route isn’t going to put us in a better position. All doctors I have talked to are assuming egg quality but we now know that wasn’t the case last round. What am I missing? Is there anything else that should be explored before our next round of IVF?
Thank you so much! We appreciate your feedback.
