  1. Hi Dr Sher. Is it a huge deal to start Estradiol for FET on CD1?

    • No it is not!

  2. I did a back to back iui this cycle on a single 24mm follicle on clomid.
My first iui was at 24 hours post trigger second at 48 hours.
I felt myself ovulate at about 34 hours post trigger. Was my iui ideally scheduled or am I without a chance?
    thankyou

    • I think you were scheduled appropriately!

  3. Hi Dr Sher, I’m 44 years old and 3 month and for the last year have been trying to get pregnant. Two IUS didn’t work then in October I had an IVF which produced 16 eggs and from 6 initially fetilized, 2 to day 3 and 1 to day 5. Neither of those attempts worked so another round 7 months ago was better, 17 eggs and 10 embryos, 7 grade AA day 5 and 2 day 5 AB and 1 day 6 B. I was very hopeful. But now two more attempts, the FET for the AB last month, and FET for the AA this month also failed. Obviously I’m very grateful to have these embryos but I’m becoming quite despondent that with these great stats it’s still not working. I’m obviously aware my age is the biggest factor. but I appear and my stats are for a younger woman. How can I know whether it’s not a uterine immunology issue for example and not my age? Is there anything else I can be doing? The plan going forward is two embryos in the FET from this month. I’ve tried natural cycles so far but from this month, a medicated cycle. I chose not to do genetic testing (since I understand that can potentially destroy good embryos) I am aware it could take a while but I’m quite alarmed that nothing is taking so far. As time clearly isn’t on my side I’d like to learn what else I should be doing or checking for. It’s hard for me to understand what my chances of success are because my stats seem to be an outlier to my age but instinctively it seems odd to me that such a high percentage fertilized to good quality embryos yet they are not implanting. I’m taking progesterone supplements each FET cycle, they keep changing the type, this month I’m on Drygesterone, last month Krinon. Thanks so much, Ella

  4. Hi dr Sher
Does MMR vaccination safe for babies? I heard rumour it can cause autism later in life. Need your expertise to explain this

    • Very controversial but probably not dangerous. In my opinion the benefit far outweighs the risk!

    • In my opinion, provided the freezing is optimally done and ultra-rapid vitrification is used, there is definitely no downside to freezing. There could even be a slight benefit in that freezing allows for better uterine preparation for transfer than can be achieved during the fresh cycle where you have to settle for the COS-related hormonal effects of ovarian stimulation on endometrial implantation potential. And of course, there is an absolute need for independent endometrial preparation when embryo recipient cycles are mandated (egg donation, Gest. surrogacy, embryo adoption and when PGS is used).

      Good luck!
