  2. Hi Dr. Sher,

We have been trying for about 2 years- in the last year – 4 failed IUIs, laparoscopy done that showed no signs of endometriosis (and uterine polyp removed). Now just had a failed PGS high graded embryo transfer fail. In all this time I have never had a positive pregnancy test. For each of the 4 IUIs I started having mild, constant pelvic cramping at 7 d post insemination, and started this same pelvic constant cramping at 5dp5dt for my FET, and it started right after I passed a small amount of bright red blood and mucus. My husband and I are convinced the pelvic cramping has something to do with the repeated implantation failure, but my RE doesn’t have much to offer in terms of why this is happening or how to prevent. What do you suggest as our next steps? Is this an immune response and what could be causing this cramping? Thank you!

  3. Hi, does a day 2 Antral follicle count of 35 mean I have PCOS?

    • Not alone. You would need more testing!

  4. Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my message. I am 43 and just completed my 4th round of IVF. On my first round I became pregnant but miscarries at 11 weeks. This last round I had 2 genetically tested embryos in which I transferred at different times and no success. I did the ERA test and it came back pre-receptive. Is there anything else you would have recommended and do you recommend doing another round?

  5. Dr. Sher,

My husband and I are both 37. He has a super low sperm count (can’t test for fragmentation) and I have DOR. We’ve done 2 IVF cycles. First cycle we had one 7 cell embryo transferred on D3 and it failed to implant. This cycle we did another D3 fresh transfer and had 2 eight cell embryos transfer (one was compacting) but both failed to implant. We still have 3 frozen embryos remaining. (Day 5: 1BB, Day 6: 4AB, 1BB) Our RE said that the egg quality was noted as “grainy.” We really would like multiple kids! Should we try implanting those, hoping for the best, or do another cycle (freeze only) in hopes of getting one or two better quality embryos than the 1BBs? Or, are we just wasting our money with our age and diagnoses? Thanks!

    • I think you should transfer available embryos. In the interim, your husband should be reevauated to see if there is a reversable/treatable cause for the male factor. Specifically, is there a possible factor such as a low FSH, or an anatomical impediment linked to a varicocele. If the FET fails then treatment of any male factor should ensue and a revised protocol should be considered for ovarian stimulation should be instituted in the next attempt.

      Good luck!
