I’m a lady of 22, i started having milky discharge from my right side of breast, and having scanty period. Went to the hospital, and was told do test, when the results came out, my prolactin was within the normal range, but my FSH was high, it was 24. Though, before the test, I was put on bromergon. Whenever I don’t take the drug, my period will be scanty, and when i take it, the flow will be ok. But I am tired of taking it, please what can I do?. Thanks
The Bromocryptine should not affect your FSH level. The timing of the blood test could be important. If it was done in the 1st few days of the period, that is one thing. If it was mid-cycle at the time of ovulation, a level of 25 could be normal. The lactation from the one breast with a normal prolactin is suggestive of a local lesion in that breast. I suggest you discuss this with your gynecologist!

Hello Dr., I wish to quickly check your point of view on the following.
– My Homocysteine levels are normal
– I tested positive for 2 copies (C677T/A1298C) of the mutation for MTHFR
Do I still require Lovenox treatment? Can I avoid it.
Also, does Vitamin B complex help?
Please let me know.
To be on the safe side…yes , you do, once pregnant!!

Apologies if I’m double posting, but I didn’t see mine pop up. I’m concerned my hcg levels are no longer rising appropriately. This is a doubling time of about 5 days. The rise was great up until now. Should I prepare for miscarriage?

No!…the hCG will rise more slowly as the pregnancy advances. An ultrasound done 10 from now should however, be definitive.

Hi, Dr. Sher:
First thank you for doing this.
I am 40 years old and had two miscarriages last year with natural conception (I also have a 3 year old conceived naturally). I had a failed IVF cycle after the miscarriages- 2 embryos made it to blastocyst but were deemed too poor to transfer.
It was recommended I go to donor eggs. I got three embryos: One day 5- 3ab and two day 6 – 4ba and 2bb
The 3ab was a frozen transfer and failed
Not sure what my next steps should be and whether the day 6 2bb is even worth transferring (even though my clinic told me this was “good” quality which I am doubting).
Thank you!
Went through IVF medicine prep and process and had my egg retrieval scheduled. My husband and I got to the facility and shortly after my IV was put into my hand I fainted and then had a small seizure. This is something I have never experienced before. I before the cold room, emotion, medicine and everything leading up to that moment caused this issue. The IV was not properly put into my vein and the nurse kept moving it around and was very painful. I ended up in the ER, left with full ovaries and was unable to proceed with egg retrieval. Should I give the doctor a second chance? The doctor thinks I’d be a high risk patient and said this has never happened before. I don’t want to give up and don’t want to feel I am unable to try this again.
Wow! That is terrible. I am sorry you had to go through it all.
I agree with your Dr that this is an absolute rarity. In 37 years of doing IVF I have never encountered something like this and I hope I never will. However, don’t give up. Maybe next time select another anesthesiologist.
