  1. I have had a miscarriage and Ectopic pregnancy since January. I went July 20 to OB and had negative urine test. July 28 I took a urine and there was a positive so I contacted the dr and now I’m going every 48 hours to get lab work.

    8/3 HCG 334
    8/5 HCG 860

I go again Friday. Do you think this looks like a viable pregnancy so far!?!? I’m nervous every time I get a weird cramp or go to the bathroom that I’m going to miscarry.

    • Hi Skye!

This looks quite hopeful and promising!

      Good luck!

  2. After IVF egg retrieval, I am having my eggs frozen for use in several months. Will I just wait for my bleed since there will be no transfer or will there be other meds I take?

    • It depends on your doctor as to how he/she will proceed in a subsequent frozen embryo transfer cycle.

  3. Thank you. I will look into these options. In the meantime. Should we use Preseed? Its advertised as safe but I read it will kill sperm?

Many thanks for all your time and patience.

    • I would not, but discuss with your personal treating physician.

  4. Hi Dr Sher,
My wife is having Intralipid infusions for elevated NK Cells. She had two infusions before her transfer and one upon receiving a positive pregnancy test. She is currently 5w4days pregnant and the doctor wants her to continue them weekly. Is this overkill in your opinion? I read your article about Intralipids and you suggest one infusion 10 days before and another upon a positive pregnancy test. Is there any risk having these infusions done on a weekly basis? There seems to be some uncertainty over their safety (animal trials showed a detrimental effect on the fetus from what I read. No human trials have been conducted). Your opinion on this would be much appreciated.

    • In my opinion, the need for continuing IL infusions beyond the +ve pregnancy test only applies when the cause of NK cell activation is alloimmune (DQ alpha/HLKA matching) rather than autoimmune. This having been said, continued infusions (although unnecessary in the former case, would in my opinion not be harmful.

  5. Hello Dr
I had a medically terminated pregnancy in jan 2020 at 7 weeks due to non formation of heart beat. Now I am 6 weeks 6 days old and scheduled my US in 2 days. I had HCG test on 3/08 and result was 7300 and within a gap of 36 hours had 8100. Is this increase normal doctor? Or should I worried about heart beat again.?

    • The rise in hCG level often slows down when it reaches >5000. My bet is that you will be fine here but it is the US exanation that willbe definitive.

      Good luck!
