  1. Thank you for the reply! So there would be no recommendation to not do a second elective retrieval simply to avoid additional punctures?

(This is only on my radar after reading about increased levels of anti ovarian antibodies after retrieval (compared to before retrieval in same women), a few studies indicated it was likely trauma to the ovaries vs stimulation meds (since the anti ovarian antibodies weren’t present during stimulation)

Wondering if the presence of anti ovarian antibodies affects future ability to conceive naturally, and if anti ovarian antibodies are in fact seen to increase after retrievals

    • It could play a role!

  2. Hi Dr. Sher – does retrieving many eggs (30-40 eggs), which requires many punctures to the ovaries, create any kind of scar tissue or abnormality? In other words, do many punctures to the ovaries come with risk of future ovarian or fertility issues? Thank you so much for your help

    • No…not really, unless of course infection is introduced…and that is quite rare.

  3. Hello, doctor.
    My7dpt beta with a hatching was 63,3.
    My 9dpt beta was 147,7.
Does it sound good? Would you repeat the blood test?

    • I would probably repeat in about 1 week!

  4. My HCG started to rise normally, declined and is now rising. It’s very low but we were shocked to see a heart beat today. I have 2 children and 2 prior miscarriages. Do you think there’s a chance this might be viable?

  5. Dear Dr Sher,
Can I please ask what day do you recommend transferring a day six embryo in a frozen cycle?
5 or 6 days after commencing progesterone?
    Thank you

    • 6 days!
