Hi Dr Sher, what are your thoughts on medicated vs natural FET for older women?
I uniformly advocate for medicated cycles. The reasons are: a) It is a better method by which to pinpoint the window of implantation and b); It avoids the effect of a possible fluctuation in the hormonal environment that can occur in spontaneous cycles.

I am 43 and about to start first IVF cycle. My FSH is 18 and LH is 6. Estradiol is 50,Testosterone 26 and Prolactin 17. AMH is .2. My RE is doing the short Antagonist protocol with Letrozole 5mg daily from days 2-6,Gonal F from day 2 (dose dependant on AFC),Antagonist (Cetrorelix/Orgalutron/ Antagon,) 0.25 mg from day 7.
Would this work for me or should I ask for your Agonist/Antagonist Conversion protocol? My LH,I am guessing,is in the normal range or is it too low compared to FSH? What would the A/ACP look like in my case? How long should I be on BCP? Should I prime with estrogen? For how long? Thank you.
Dr.,
Are baby home dopplers/heart rate monitors safe to use on my baby? I want to use one if so…. If they are safe, is it ok to use during all 3 trimesters?
In my opinion, they are safe throughout pregnancy, but discuss with your OB first.

Hi Doctor to respond to my previous question, the doctor was NOT optimistic. i had a typo.
If we do not see a heartbeat by wk7 should we call it quits?

If no HB at 7w, the pregnancy has failed.

Dear Dr. Sher,
At 4-5 weeks pregnant
WBC white blood cells are high 16.10 x 10^3/uL (reference is 4.5-11)
Red blood cells are high 5.20 x 10^6/uL (reference is 4-4.9)
HGB 15.30 (reference 12-15)
HCT 44.20 (reference 36-44)
Are these results showing that something is wrong, an infection or it is normal in pregnancy?
I had 1 week ago an allergic reaction that was not understood why (gilbert syndrome, high total bilirubine).
And few days ago I had intralipid infusion and I am taking prednisone 20 mg daily.
The prednisone can and will increase the WBC count!
