  1. I tested positive with a home test on 11/22. HCG levels that day were 254. Repeated HCG levels on 11/26 they were 834.5. Is that a good rise?

    • Still reasonable!

Repeat the beta in 2 days to see if it doubles. Then do an US at 6-7 weeks for a definitive indication.

  2. My LMP was 9/27 and cycle has been irregular for past couple of months. First blood hcg was 110 on 10/27 and went for US on 11/22 and yolk sac, the gestational sac and fetal pole with no heartbeat was visible and measured 5 weeks and 5 days with hcg level @ 43,000 (seems high) instead of the 8 weeks that I thought based on my LMP. Dr indicated that I may have ovulated later but I only had sex on 10/9. I think I ovulated around 10/13. Another US and hcg level is scheduled 11/29. Does this look promising? I had MC 1-2021.

    • It is hard to say. If your dates are correct, there could be a problem here and I would hope for the best but prepare for the worst. However, if your dates are wrong, then it might turn out OK. An US in 1 week should be definitive.

      Good luck!

  3. Hello Dr. Sher,

Have you heard of an HCG wash before a frozen embryo transfer? If so, do you recommend this?

    Thank you kindly

    • Indeed I have…but I am not convinced that it will help.

      Sorry!

  4. Hi Dr. Sher,

My beta at 14dp5d is only 51. Is there zero chance for success?

Why do chemicals happen? I had a normal 5ab embryo..great lining..ERA done etc.

    Thanks

    • Repeat the beta hCG test in a few days. It should double every 48h or so.

      Good luck!

  5. Dr Sher,

I am 16 weeks pregnant and take baby aspirin and prenatal vitamins daily. Due to travel and running out, I haven’t taken either aspirin or prenatal vitamins for 2 days, but have started back again today. Will the absence of those for 2 days hurt my baby?

    • I do not prescribe baby aspirin to the vast majority of my patients. And 2 days hiatus in prenatal stamens will have no adverse consequences. So in my opinion, you are fine.

      Good luck!
