  1. What is the impact of thawing, repeating a biopsy, and re-freezing blast embryos due to an inconclusive initial PGS test? Is there an impact on implantation and live birth rates due to the multiple biopsies? Thank you.

    • I agree and that is why I personally do not advocate such a strategy.

  2. As the male, how does drinking a few beers a night affect the conception/ health of baby?

    • As long as you drink in moderqation, you should be fine sperm-wise.

    • Hi Dr,
I am a 37 year old female going through IVF,
I had already one IVF round with puregon (200IU) and got 5 mature eggs.
This time, my doctor suggested I go through long protocol.
I was prescribed 0.1 mg gonapeptyl for 2-3 weeks before starting 250 IU of puregon.
And while am on puregon, I am asked to continue with 01 mg of gonapeptyl.
I read from your earlier answers that it’s safe to use for a period up to 14 days,
I will be using for 1 month.
Is it safe to use ?
I read horrible side effects of Lupron online and I know that is a higher dose used for longer time.
But I was worried since I knew I handled puregon well and would have preferred a shorter cycle.
      Thanks for your time!
      Regards.

  4. Can Heart disease cause infertility?

  5. Hello Dr Sher!
    I really need your advice.
I am 41 years old with very high fsh and undetectable AMH. I recently got a blast from an ivf cycle last month. It is now frozen so even though my numbers are hopeless i still want to try with my own eggs.
I am planning to do a natural cycle this month but i really need advice:
    Yesterday(CD7)-i had a 13mm follicle. LH was 16.82, E2 69pg/ml
Today CD8 i really feel hot-so maybe surging already.
    1) Should i add ganirelix today?
    2) Will i need some boost with injectables after adding ganirelix? Which ones and how much?
    3) Do i use a double trigger(HCG) for one follicle?(worried that if i don’t use double i may end up with an empty follicle, however worried that a double trigger may damage the egg)
    4) What size should the doctor trigger?

Sorry to be asking. My doctor admits he is not experienced in severely DOR women-i am really hoping to hear from you.
    Thanks

    • Hi Alkyone,

I really am very reluctant to impose myself here while you are being treated by another doctor. I suggest you have this discussion with him/her.

      Good luck!
