Is there such a thing as too much growth hormone? In one cycle I used 1/2 vial and in another cycle a full vial of saizen. Is the more GH the better or is a small amount preferred?
We use a specific tailored regime when HGH is used. Too much is really only a real danger in women with other hormonal problems such as diabetes.

Hi. Dr. Sher. My first beta was 125 and second beta only went up to 155.. this is obviously not going to go good, right?
It is alarming unless you started off with >1 pregnacy and one is absorbing. If so, a third beta , 2 days later should see the levels go up again.

Dear Dr. Sher,
I am 37 yrs old, with one healthy child (through IUI or natural conception – we’re not quite sure), our son is almost 10 months old. We were diagnosed with Infertility Unexplained. We now want to add to our family and recently completed our first IVF cycle (after 2 more failed IUIs). I was on 300 Gonal-F and 150 Menopur for 10 days, with the last 4 days of Cetrotide. I triggered with HCG 10,000 and had 25 eggs retrieved. 11 fertilized through ICSI but only 2 made it to blast (graded as 5AA and 4BB). We are currently awaiting PGD testing on the two that made it.
We are both disappointed with the number of 5 day blasts that made given the number of eggs retrieved, I was conservatively hoping for between 5-6 blasts to make it to testing. Was I expecting too much? Was I stimulated too aggressively and it impacted egg quality? Would a different trigger (the dual trigger have been better?). We don’t have a consult for several weeks (which in itself is frustrating so we’re trying to find answers in the interim). I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dr. Sher, I had an FET yesterday. Should I be drinking lots of room temperature water? I heard from a few people that they stopped drinking caffeine and would drinks lots of water after their FET. Also, are there any suggestions as to what to do, not to do and eat after a transfer. I would love to hear your suggestions. Thank you.
Regular diet and avoid overload on caffeine, limit alcohol usage and discuss any meds you take with your RE. Take prenatal vitamins + additional folic acid .

Hi Dr. Sher,
I am doing a natural fet transfer, and on the day of lh surge if 46(documented by blood work) my lining was only 4.9 mm. My RE is telling to proceed with the cycle which i don’t quite understand – concerned about the lining. Had 2 fresh cycles both of which resulted in pregnancy with a good lining ( one was a miscarriage, d and c and chronic endometritis. Treated with doxy for 7 days. Had a biopsy after that which was normal. Previous medicated fet lining was at most 6.8 mm, that cycle did not work.
Please advise whether i should do the transfer. I am a 39 yo with one child, have several embryos frozen from 4- 5 months ago.

I cannot interfere. All I can say is that i do not do an ET unless the estrogen (natural or administered)- induced lining is >8mm.
