I was 6w4d yesterday but at the ultrasound the Dr said I was measuring at 6w. She seemed concerned and said it looked like the heart was beating slow but when she measured the HR via ultrasound it said 119, which I know is good for this time in the pregnancy. They are bringing me back next week for another ultrasound but I’m scared. We did IVF and this pregnancy was from FET. She is not my regular Dr and is a new attending. I’m scared and confused and am hoping for another opinion.
Also my hcg levels were 341, 866 and 2908. I did have quite a bit of clots/bleeding about two weeks ago and the 2908 is the day after that. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
It sounds OK to me Christina. I would not be overly concerned at this.

I tested positive with urine test on Tuesday 14 days post IUI and went in for a blood test that same day. The nurse called me and told me my level was 28 and my Dr wanted me to wait a week and come in to do another blood test. How concerned should I be at how low my number is? The only symptoms I have are cramping and stress of course. Could low numbers also mean my baby might have problems? I just don’t want to be blindsided with bad news.
P.S. my progesterone was 40 and Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear doctor Sher,
I had an ultrasound yesterday and the doctor found out that the baby has choroid plexus cysts on both sides in her head. It gave me a shock as a cysts on a baby’s brain sound extremely serious.
The doctor said that she has already seen such cases and there is no need to worry about it because the baby has no other signs of abnormalities for now and would not recommend an amniocentesis as I am 37 and I have hardly managed to conceive. Also she mentioned that the cysts will resolve and that usually happens until 24 weeks of pregnancy. Other fetal morphology is alright-vital fetus, placenta in front, adequate amount of amniotic fluid/water, BIP- 43 mm- 19 weeks+2/7, AC-137 mm- 19 weeks +1/7, F- 26mm -18 weeks, umbilical cord 3 (I am not sure if I have translated all well)… Now I am 18 weeks+4 days pregnant.
Also she said that we did the Harmony Prenatal Test and the blood test results showed low risk for the abnormalities and that is one more reason not to worry about (Trisomy 18, 21, 13 and Sex Chromosome Aneuploidy Panel- all low risk). I did that test when I was 11 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Next ultrasound is for 4 weeks.
Probably I am panicking for nothing but it’s nerve wracking and it would be helpful and nice to have one more professional opinion, just that I can calm down.

I agree with your doctor…that this is likely to resolve spontaneously . However, I would still do an amniocentesis in the 2nd trimester!

I am quite worried. In your experience, is it possible that a 19.1 beta HCG result 5dpt lead to a viable pregnancy?
Yes! In fact that is not a bad level.

Good Morning Dr Sher,
My wife and I are currently seeing a Dr for ICSI after three years of natural trial. She is 34 years old and my sperm vitals are very ok. She has started the process and today is day 10th of her cycle. But the surprising thing is that she wasn’t given any OVARIAN STIMULATION INJECTION to stimulate her ovaries to produce many eggs in order to increase our chances.
So, my question and concern is that; Is it normal for someone going through ICSI procedure not to receive this stimulation injection? Will it not reduce our chance of success, as we are hoping and believing to get two babies in this cycle….Lol.

Some do IVF/ICSI in natural (unstimulated) cycles. However, I personally do not perform natural cycle IVF. The success rate is rather low.
