I was wondering what the different opinions are on Menopur. My wife’s last cycle had her on 225IU of menopur and now at our new clinic she will only be on 37.5iu. Thank you for your time.
I never recommend >75U Menopur per day. BUT that is my opinion not alwways shared by others.

My RE is wanting me to do PIO shots after egg retrieval and Progesterone/EV2 suppositories. This is my first time working with this RE but my previous one did not have me suppositories. I was just curious about the reasoning behind the suppositories. Thanks
They augment the effect of the PIO and also supplement estrogen …a good thing in my opinion.

Hi – when someone does IVIG, do they also need prednisone? I’m 5.5 weeks pregnant and just had a second IVIG infusion last week. I’m going to wean off prednisone bc my doc suggested that if I did another IVIG infusion I don’t need prednisone. Is that consistent with your understanding? Also, I’m reluctant to take prednisone first trimester bc of increased risk of oral facial defects, which is why I would like to wean off asap. My only immune bloodwork is moderately elevated TNF alpha. Thanks
In my opinion, it is best to start weening off sreroids closer to 10 weeks.

Below are my HCG numbers so far.

Progesterone 6 – 6/12
Due to the low rise of hcg and spotting, the doctor did an ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy on 6/15. I was surprised to see a heart beat and appropriately sized embryo (measuring 6 weeks and 5 days). The doctor put me on vaginal progesterone and scheduled a repeat ultrasound in 2 weeks. Is there any place for more HCG levels, and should is 6 weeks too late to start vaginal progesterone? Also, should I be concerned for the low rise in HCG since the ultrasound looked good with a heartbeat?
I would not do any more hCG tests. In my opinion, there should not be a need for further supplemental progesterone. Just follow-up with weekly US examinations.

I think this could still turn out fine. I would not do any more than do an US weekly for the next few weeks. That should be definitive. In my opinion, taking progesterone now, while it wont harm, is unlikely to be of benefit.

I’m concerned about IID. I am a 31 year old with a healthy egg supply, and my husbands SA always comes back fantastic. I recently underwent IVF after 3 years of infertility (unexplained) and had an antral follicle count of 27, had 13 eggs retrieved, 10 mature, 6 fertilized and 3 made it to poor quality blasts. They were biopsied for pgs testing and one came back normal (that also happened to be the best looking, quality wise). I had a frozen transfer and 3 days after transfer had a strong immune reaction for one day. No one around me was sick but I developed a fever, and swollen glands. The result was a bfn with 0 hcg in my system. Could IID be a possible problem? I’ve never had so much as a chemical pregnancy in the past. I’ve never had exploratory surgery to test for endo either. What would you suggest as next steps for me? I’m scared I have to give up.
