  1. Dear Dr. Sher
I’m 40 years old woman and I asked you before several months about the negative effects of DHEA, especially that I have low AMH (0.21 before 1 year) and my FSH now is 17.9. I’m planning for a 2nd IVF trail.
Well you answered me that DHEA is not good in my case and that sounded true because after only 1 month of 50 mg daily DHEA I had many time hot flashes in body with sweating in addition to that my eggs become very small that month which not normal with me. And after I stop it I became better. My question now is: I going now to another doctor and we plan to do an IVF next month, so he described to me again the DHEA 50/day with Orfem tab 1/day and Progyluton 1/day, and when I told him about the negative effect that happened with me during taking the DHEA, he said that this occurred because I took it alone before but now with the other medications DHEA will be good for me. So please dr. tell me your opinion, do you agree with him. I just started to take it sine 4 day and from 2 days I had again hot flashes about once each day.
    Many thanks in advance

    • While I am not sure that the DHEA caused the symptoms you describe, I still respectfully submit that in my opinion, it is potentially harmful , especially if used by women who have DOR.

  2. Dear Dr Sher,

What is the success with slow frozen embryos? I am considering embryo adoption and they just have slow frozen embryos from my ethnicity. Thanks

    • Pregnancies are reported but at a lower rate by far…than with ultrarapidly frozen (vitrified) embryos.

    • They have 11 slow frozen embryos. Will I have a good chance to have atleast 1 baby with 11 embryos if they are all BB grade? Thanks

  3. Halo, Dr Sher, I’m 42 4 days ago my last IVF journey started. I have minimal stimulation, only Gonal 150 + Menopur 75, my AMH is low 0,35. But my basic 3 day of cycle LH was 12 – in my opinion to high , today – 6 day of cycle, (3 day of stimulation) is 19, should I worry about this elevated LH and ask my RE for Cetroitide or somethng similar?

    • In my opinion a raised LH is not ideal, but you are already in-cycle and trying to alter alter the course of this stimulation, at this stage is probably not going alter the course of this stimulation.

  4. Dr Sher, if I have almost natural IVF , only 2-3 follicles growing , and minimal dosage of Gonal and Menopur ( only few days), due to my age should I have Pregnyl (trigger) 10000 to prevent chromosomal abnormality of eggs or only 5000? I’m 41, small body size, my E2 is near 600.

    • Andrea,

In my opinion, it is suboptimal to “trigger” with 5,000U hCG. The dosage should be 10,000U.
