  1. Dear Dr Sher I have recently had an egg collection, 2 are currently at 4 cell and 8 cell stage (day 3 embryos) with preparing to transfer on Saturday (day 5). My Dr ha suggested I go on progesterone crinone 2 a day, progynova 1 tablet (2mg) twice a day, and provera 1 tablet (10mg) 2 times a day. Also aspirin 1 tablet 100mg once per day. Do you think this is all relevant? In previous cycles I had just taken crinone once per day. In your opinion is it imperitave I take progynova and provera?? Many thanks Lucinda

    • Lucinda,

I am not ready to insert my opinion into that of your treating RE, while you are under treatment with him/her. I would not feel good about someone doing tat to me…. All I can say is that this aproach is very different from my own.

      Good luck!

  2. How long can a blastocyst stay alive in uterine before it HAS to implant? How is it possible (I’ve seen on many clinic pages) that a blastocyst can implant up to 5 days after 5 day transfer. Also do you ever see that a FET embryo sometimes implants a little later? Thank you kind sir!

    • Implantation begins about 48h after blastocyst transfer and of course embeds in the ensuing day.

  3. Hi Dr. Sher, I need your input. What does it mean to have dominant follicle in the baseline? I attempted two IVF, both the time had 15mm and 13mm, had only two eggs, one of the cycle was converted to IUI and for the other one I went ahead retrieval, but none fertilized. Looking for the best protocol for dominant follicle? and also when to take HGH during stimulation or primed with the previous cycle as well to improve egg quality? Your suggestion is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance

  4. Good morning Dr sher. Do you think that an ERA test is a good thing to do before nun FET or unnecessary. I have never had a failed transfer before, but only have one embryo so would like to maximize my chances of transfer working. I am hearing from some people that an ERA is only accurate about 20% of the time so is probably a waste of money. What are your feelings on the subject?

    • Frankly, I am not a proponent of ERA testing.

  5. For embryo transfer how many hcg shots would you recommend and at what stages of the cycle? My clinic have said for me to do 3 hcg shots after transfer, but I can’t help but think that is too many and they aren’t all needed? Thank you

    • I do NOT using advocate hCG after ET at all!
