Hello Dr,
I had medical abortion from 12 days (7-weeks pregnancy)and i did b-hcg quantitative blood test its 900 and ultrasound showed clear uterus what that means and is medical abortion successful? When will it go back to zero?

Answer
The level should keep dropping to zero within another 7-10 days. However, the blood hCG level needs to be tracked every 2 days (for another 2 or 3 readings), because sometimes (albeit rare), both an intrauterine pregnancy and a tubal pregnancy can coexist (i.e., a heterotopic pregnancy).
