Had some brown discharge , went into doctor. I currently 5 weeks and 4 days, my hcg levels were at 17,000. Ultrasound showed gestational sac of 8mm and no definite yolk sac but a possible yolk sac of 1mm. Really concerned about high level or hcg yet no obvious sac. They said in the ultrasound ovaries were clear. Said to repeat ultrasound in 5 days. Could this be an tube pregnancy or a blighted ovum? I had some lower right cramping a few days ago but it went away and they said they saw no eptopic on ultrasound but couldn’t rule it out. I scared of molar or tubular pregnancy. Should I be worried with these levels and no definite yolk sac?
I think you will be fine. Have another US in 10 days for confirmation.
Good luck!

Hi Dr. Sher,
First beta was 75, second 2 days later was 238 then 4 days later was 1,400. Is that a good progression?
Thanks.
Jess
Hi Dr. Sher!
I currently am on the fertility medication clomid due to fertility issues from pcos. My lmp began on Aug 31st. My cycles typically last 33-34 days, and I had a positive ovulation test on Sept 18th. I took an initial test on Sept 27th which was negative, and then another on Sept 30th which was positive. My first beta hcg was drawn oct 1st and was 51. My 2nd beta on oct 3rd (40 hours later) was only 65. With these numbers and dates do you think there is a possibility of this being a viable pregnancy? Repeat beta to be drawn tomorrow
Sadly,
This does not look encouraging!
So sorry!

Dr Sher,
I had an hysteroscopy before 15 days as i had adhesions. An Cu- IUD was inserted immediately after hysteroscpy and i also took estradiol valerate 2mg twice a day. However, after 10 days i had bleeding like menstruation so my doctor removed the IDU and advised me to take 2mg 3 times daily but bleeding didn’t stop. Doctor advised me to continue taking estradiol valerate for one week and then to stop taking it if bleeding continues. Did my endometrium thicken so fast taking estradiol valerate and broke down?
Thank you so much
It could well be the case!
Good luck!

Thank you for your prompt reply. Should I continue taking estradiol for one week or should I stop? I still have the same blood flow. In other words, will estradiol repair my endometrium and stop bleeding or is it better stop taking estradiol?
Thank you again
Hi Dr. Sher, I was just wondering for a HRT cycle FET Is an Estrogen serum level of 1400 too high for CD8 (current dose- 2mg progynova TDS) – should this dose be reduced or maintained? Thankyou 🙂
It is a little high but not critical. I shoot for 500-1000!
Good luck.
