Hi Dr Sher, in my last IVF cycle, I did the day 21 lupron protocol and after 6 days of 10U of lupron my LH was 8.3, progesterone was 21, FSH was 4 and oestrogen was 155. I thought lupron was supposed to suppress oestrogen, FSH and LH. How long does the process take with lupron? I normally have a very low LH reading. Is this what you’d expect to see from someone who is down regulating and had been 2-3 days away from commencement of a menstrual cycle??
It often takes a few days longer. Remember, the initial effect of an antagonist (e.g.Lupron) is to expunge pituitary LH and this causes an initial rise in blood level and it takes a few days longer to go down. I predict that if you wait until your period starts and then retest..your LH level will be much lower.

Hi Dr Sher! Happy holidays!
Can I ask, what is your opinion of Neupogen injections during IVF stimulation?
I personally do not believe in its effectiveness and accordingly I do not prescribe it!

Hello Dr Sher, what is the minimum time one should be on lupron before switched to 1/2 dose antagonist? I ask because my cycles are between 24-28 days and I usually start lupron on day 21. I’ve read it’s best not to be on lupron for longer than 14 days, but is anything as little as 7 days of lupron all up a problem before the switch to antagonist?
Should be no problem at all!

What transfer protocol would you use for someone with partial adenemyosis? I was thinking Lupron or Cabergoline for a few months every time i take estrogen for transfers i feel my uterus go hard like a lump inside me
I have a son from my very first FET since him ive done 8 transfers ( 5 negatives and 2 chemicals that happened right after a DNC was done)
In my opinion, if your uterine lining is adequate (>8mm) on estrogen, you would not require extended Cabergoline or Lupron.
